Chuck oversees all day-to-day operations of Southtree Commercial. His responsibilities include producing estimates and budgetary contracts, meeting with project stakeholders and subcontractors, and visiting job sites weekly. Maintaining a hands-on approach, Chuck brings his extensive knowledge and experience of design and construction to each project.
The son of a builder, Chuck gained valuable experience in the construction industry at a young age, as he worked with his father and numerous subcontractors in a variety of fields. He knew he wanted to start his own construction business, and after graduating from the University of Georgia, he founded South-Tree Enterprises, a commercial construction firm. With over 30 years of continued success, he has expanded his team, started and co-founded numerous entities, and rebranded four entities to Southtree Commercial.
Active in the local community, Chuck enjoys helping others. One of the founding members of MENTORise, an organization that works with young entrepreneurs, Chuck shares his journey and knowledge with mentees. He serves on the board of directors for Bearings Bike Works, Line Creek Brewing Company, and is a volunteer with Southside Church. He has worked with several nonprofit organizations, including the Real Life Center, Midwest Food Bank, and Bearings Bike Shop to assist them with their construction projects. Past affiliations of volunteer service include serving on a local bank board for eight years, first as Chairman of the Loan Committee, and then as Chairman of the Board. In addition, Chuck served as Construction Coordinator for Habitat for Humanity.
