TerBeek Molding & Tool
TerBeek Molding & Tool (TMT) engaged Southtree Commercial to build a state-of-the-art machine shop with three 10 ton bridge cranes and a high hook height. The design of the building structure accommodates the bridge crane runway beams and minimizes the number of columns. A large truck courtyard and drive-in door allow truck access to the end bays. The grinder room has a polished concrete slab that utilizes special machinery. Illuminated to 85 footcandles, the shop has compressed air piping. Precision machinery in the shop makes molds for injection molding machines, which produce EpiPens, asthma inhalers, and other medical devices.
Bearings Bike Works
Bearings Bike Works is a nonprofit youth development organization in Southwest Atlanta. The organization allows kids to earn a bike of their own while developing the skills necessary to transition into adulthood and the workplace.
The Southtree Commercial Construction team has completed Phase 1 of the project, which consisted of the renovation of a 75-year-old double Quonset Hut on the property, moving Bearings from the basement to a new, light-filled 6,000-square-foot facility with a 2,500-square-foot open workspace, classroom space for in-depth teaching, and training opportunities, and office space for support staff. In addition, a parking lot and landscaping improves the surrounding property and will eventually connect to the Atlanta BeltLine.
